Remixes are all too often dismissed by fans and critics as being album fillers and recycled piffle. But here are some house remixes of Billboard top ten hits that may even be better than the original.
5. Good Girls Go Bad (Cash Cash remix) by Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester
The original version of Good Girls Go Bad is already groove worthy, but this version has those dance synths that makes one jump when the song reaches it’s chorus. Leighton Meester’s voice bodes well with techno effects.
4. How Many Words (Jason Benson remix) by Blake Lewis
Why didn’t he pursue this type of music?! DJ instead na lang!
3. I Want to Know What Love is (Moto Blanco Club Edit) by Mariah Carey
In a desperate attempt to climb the charts, Carey’s label decided to re-release her album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.” It seemed to be a bad idea, but man, the remixes in the repacked album are good! This one’s even better than the original!
2. Obsessed (Seamus Haji And Paul Emanuel Radio Edit) by Mariah Carey
As I told you, the repackaged album is really good! Another good remix is this version of Obsessed!
1. Forever (Polow Da Don remix) by Chris Brown
Forever makes mainstream pop fans understand the essence of contemporary trance and techno. With its irresistible club-style beats and bass, perfect use of vocal effects and enchanting vocals provided by Chris Brown in his pre-domestic violence era, Forever works so well that it becomes this generation’s mainstream club anthem.
What does the remix contribute then?
It extended the song, by 2 minutes.
